My experience so far: University - Home Sickness (2)

I am now back at university for my second semester - ahhhhh! I always knew that in this series I would have to write about this topic as everyone feels it one way or another at some point during their uni experience. However, I don't think I truly felt it till I came back after the winter break. This was not at all something I expected. I mean, I've settled in now - have all my friends and classes sorted - so why did I wish I was at home? If anything you would expect freshers week to be the thing to make you miss home the most - and for many people this was the case. I can admit to shedding a few tears on the phone to my mum on the second day - but that was more through fear and nerves than home sickness. My theory is that the mixture of bad weather and general January blues has made we want nothing more than to see my family again - and just curl up on the sofa with my mum watching TV. This isn't an easy thing to do when you are other 200 miles away, without a TV or sof...

My Experience So Far: University/College (Intro - 1)

Image
In this collection of posts I will be revealing the truth behind University (or College of you're not English) life. This may be helpful to some of you considering Uni or reassuring to those of you already there. If you have any questions regarding anything University related please comment anywhere on this page or contact me on any of my social media. I will share my personal problems, worries, challenges, loves, enjoyments and general thoughts about Uni life in the hope that they will benefit you as much as it will benefit me to get them written down. There was in fact, an option to do this job and actually get paid for it which I reluctantly did not apply for because I thought it would be much nicer to be completely honest with my readers about what Uni life is really like, instead of being persuaded financially otherwise. Everyone told me University years are the best of your life - let's see shall we? So to start off with let me give you a (relatively vague - I do...

High School - College (An Update)

I was just reading through my blog and i noticed that just under a year ago i was talking about the move from high school - college and I realized that I forgot to update you. How sweet I was back then, so unsure, so, so foolish. I have now finished high school and received all my results which although I passed all my subjects, I know could have been a lot better if I had actually bothered to do some more revision. In the end I got; 4 C's, 5 B's and 1 A. 2 grades I received I was shocked at them being the C in maths I got, which I was startled by because I had only ever got B's and A's in the subject last year and an A in History because this time last year I was working at an F. If those 2 grades had swapped round I would've been much happier. I just about got into the college I wanted to go to and in September I will be studying; English Lit, Psychology and Philosophy and Ethics which is great as it is what I wanted to take. The only problem is, is that I am bei...

High School - College

Hey Guys, I know I havent blogged in a while and Im really sorry about that but things have bee preeeetty busy here in the life of natters. Im going through that all important transition from Senior school (high school) to College. y final exams are coming up in may next year which is panicing me (not gonna lie). But before any of that, which in my opinion is ridiculous, I need to decide what I wanna do for the next 2 years of my life. Isnt it crazy that the decisions we make now can affect our lives completely? Thats right! Thanks to yet another change to the law if you fail, you fail. Done. Dusted. Kappoth! But as I said I am now going through that all important time where you go from a baby high schooler to a sassy ass college student. Im currently looking round different colleges and sixth forms trying to figure out which one is right for me. So far I am still completely confused, stuck in a hopeless loop of "or's". I thought my courses were sorted and that I...
